Jolly Rancher X’s and O’s Gummy Candy: 10-Ounce Bag

How did the letters X and O come to symbolize hugs and kisses? (Hint: It actually has nothing to do with Gossip Girl.) Some theorize it’s because an "X" looks a bit like a stylized representation of two people kissing, and an "O" looks like hugging arms. History buffs are more likely to point to the fact that in the Middle Ages, the illiterate masses would often sign documents by marking a cross on the parchment and kissing it, in an effort to demonstrate their sincerity. In more recent centuries, illiterate US immigrants would use either an X or an O, depending upon their religious affiliations.

But no matter the reason, we just really enjoy these sweet gummy X and O candies! Bursting with amazing Jolly Rancher flavors, each letter-shaped treat is a perfect way to send the edible, chewy, fruity kind of hugs and kisses to your loved ones! They’ll get the message across -- take our word for it.
